I didn't know they were looking for a new GM.  If I did, I would have included them in the list of  poorly run teams who did not have their coaching and management in place in the run up to the draft and  in some cases well beyond or didn't even begin to make their moves until  well into the free agency period.

Luongo faded right at the end, due in part to his worry over his wife's complicated pregnancy and the Canucks missing the playoffs. This gives me a respectable  10-5 record in my playoff predictions.

Detroit was the best team in the NHL this season.  They were the  first team to look dominant this season, the  favorite at All Star break, the President's Trophy winner and the eventual cup champions. My two correct predictions in the  semi-finals have clinched the fact that I will have an above .500 record in my 2008 playoff predictions.   Here are my second round predictions and  here are my first round predictions.

The finals will be  the Detroit Red Wings against the  Pittsburgh Penguins.
